About us

Alcopa is a family-owned company based in Belgium. Its origin dates back to 1937 when Albert Moorkens set up a company producing and distributing motorcycles.
Today, Alcopa employs over 1700 employees spread in more than 11 countries. It comprises more than 90 individual companies which realized a combined turnover of 1.1 billion euros in 2010.

Alcopa defined its mission as follow: "Alcopa is an investment tool resulting from a family desire to be part of the entrepreneurial landscape in order to offer goods and services useful to society."

Alcopa comprises five Lines of Business (LOB) with different scope and geographical footprint.

The role of Alcopa Holding can be summarized in four elements :

  1. Ensuring that the operations realized by the four Lines of Business are maintained at the best level of performance by acting as an active shareholder with a long-term vision and by leveraging its in-depth expertise of the industry
  2. Supporting its four Lines of Business in the implementation of their respective strategy but also by providing them with funding at their disposal under the best possible conditions and by realizing economies of scale whenever appropriate
  3. Managing a decentralised organisation in order for its four Lines of Business to be very reactive, close to the customer and focus on operational excellence.
  4. Being in charge of research and the implementation of new activities, beyond its current perimeter.
